Biopsy Procedures: Seed Localization
What is seed localization?
A seed localization procedure involves placing a small metal seed into the suspicious tissue to note the location of the abnormality. Then, during the patient’s surgery, the seed is located with a specialized tool to find the suspicious tissue, and both the seed and tissue are removed.
